Canon 50D

$1,400.00 Released October, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:920,000-dot 3" LCD screen is crisp and sharp. High ISO performance allows for excellent low-light shooting. Auto ISO range feature works very well, allows you to choose maximum and minimum ISO settings for maximum control.

The Cons:Has more noise and blurrier image quality than the previous generation 40D. Battery tends to drain much more quickly than older Canon models due to the upgraded LCD screen.

The Canon EOS-50D was announced as a sister model, rather than successor, to the EOS-40D. The 50D uses the same body as the 40D, but inside is an upgraded 15.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and the next generation processor (Digic 4, versus the 40D's Digic III), Canon claims that the Digic 4 allows for up to 90 photos in a single burst mode.
