It has a high-precision autofocus system that can work automatically, or by user selection of 19 cross-type AF points. The AF system is designed to be customizable and accurate, even when shooting quickly. Shutter life is an estimated 300, 000 exposures, and the body of the camera is lightweight and is supposed to be weather-resistant. The Mark III also includes two of Canon's DIGIC III image processors, designed specifically for use with this camera, and to keep up with the potentially high capture rate at high resolutions. The camera also has a built-in function ot minimize highlight tones to preserve detailing in bright areas of an image. The EOS-1D Mark III has a 3.0-inch LCD display, and is compatible with around 50 Canon EF lenses.
