Nikon D50
$800.00
Released April, 2005
The Pros:Easy to use for those trading up from a P&S digicam. Good handeling. Durable (last long).
The Cons:Don't bother shooting raw instead of jpg fine, as 6MP isn't a lot compared to 10MP+ dSLR/P&S competitors.
Compact, Lightweight and Easy to Use: The Nikon D50 is easy to take with you anywhere you go! From its inviting body contours to its easily accessible controls, this is a camera that makes picture taking satisfying and fun!

otterpopjunkie:
#nikon_d50 Raw format versus jpeg is personal preference. The quality difference will probably not be noticeable to most comparing side by side except with >100% zoom. However, raw saves 12bits of color, not 8, so you can post-process and enhance photos much more effectively with more options. With the downside of more steps to print and slower saving with a full buffer.
10MP versus 6MP offers slightly more cropping ability.
