Product Shot 1 The Pros:Adapter ring is available to mount full four third lenses to the body of the G1. Two micro four third lenses are available (F3.5-5.6, 14 - 45 mm and F4.0-5.6, 45 - 200 mm) with three more in the works (F4.0 / 7 - 14 mm, F1.7 / 20 mm, and F4.0-5.6 / 14 - 140 mm). The Cons:No high definition video capture mode. Fairly expensive with full DSLR cameras always dropping in price. Adapter for four third lenses does not include auto-focus.

Released ahead of schedule in early November 2008, the Panasonic DMC-G1 is a new hybrid camera that moves closer to DSLR than any previous attempt. Allowing for interchangeable lenses as well as a variety of filters, mount adapters, external flases and remote controls - unlike most hybrids - the G1 replaces the miror and optical viewfinder found on traditional DSLR cameras with a new Live MOS sensor, and a miniature LCD screen viewfinder with a high pixel count.
